All those who complete online paralegal training hope to gain the best employment opportunities available. Among the best ways to do so is knowing exactly what to specialize in and what industries to enter. Doing so will help in increasing the chances of securing gainful employment or being qualified for the highest possible wages.
Industries That Employ the Highest Number of Offline or Online Paralegal Training Graduates
When looking to enter industries with the highest demand for legal assistants, the top five to consider are:
- Legal Services
- Federal Executive Branch
- Management of Companies and Enterprises
- Insurance Carriers
- Employment Services
The Legal Services industry provides approximately 187,360 jobs for legal assistants. Such jobs account for approximately 16%% of total employment within the industry and offer an annual mean wage of US$47,380. In the Federal Executive Branch, those who complete on-site or online paralegal training annually earn an average of US$60,340 and account for about 13,230 jobs, or about 0.71% of total employment within the industry.
Also with high levels of employment for offline or online paralegal training graduates is the Management of Companies and Enterprises industry which offers 5,820 jobs, Insurance Carriers which offers about 4,230 jobs, and Employment Services which offers about 4,140 jobs.
Industries That Offer the Highest Wages for Legal Assistants
When it comes to top paying industries, the top five are:
- Other Information Services
- Software Publishers
- Other Telecommunications
- Navigational, Measuring, Electromedical, and Control Instruments Manufacturing
- Wired Telecommunications Carriers
The Other Information Services industry offers an annual mean wage of US$70,320 to paralegals. Also offering above-average wages to online paralegal training graduates is the Software Publishers industry, within which the annual mean wage for such employees is US$69,950.
Within the Other Telecommunications industry, the annual mean wage for legal assistants is US$68,950. However, such workers only account for 0.07% of jobs within the industry. Navigational, Measuring, Electromedical, and Control Instruments Manufacturing offers average wages of US$66,120 to legal assistants who account for about 0.02% of total industry employment while Wired Telecommunications Carriers offers average wages of US$62,880 to legal assistants who cover about 0.05% of total industry employment.
Online paralegal training graduates hoping to get the best possible job opportunities should simply use these figures as a guide and not consider them as a guarantee for employment and high wages. Average wages within each industry does not consider tenure and experience and it is assumed that, the longer such individuals work within an industry and the more skilled they are, the higher expected wages should be.
